Studio Classes with David Hoff

My classroom in Fresno has been remolded and ready for these special classes.

Class will be limited to 8-10 students (almost private lessons).

   Most of these classes are on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  On Friday afternoon and evening, the day before class starts, the classroom will be open for cleaning ware and preparing for class.  Munches provided and you may want to stake out a sleeping space, if you are staying at my home.

 

Airbrush Class

   This class is high intensity and full of knowledge in how to teach airbrushing.  Designed for airbrush artists and ceramic instructors who want to learn how I teach students airbrushing for ceramics. The class is open to students who have some instruction with David Hoff in Airbrushing. 

 

Brushstroke Class

   Finally a class designed on just how to make brushstroke teaching easier and more fun.  This class has been designed to help the ceramic instructor teach basic brushwork with ease and clarity.  The class is open to all who have had some brushstroke instruction and will mainly feature-fired product.

Creative Design

   This Class is for the person who wants to improve their basic artistic knowledge and for those who want to correctly design their own projects. 

   This class will feature fired and non-fired color, some drawing skills, thorough examination of the color wheel and basic functions for building a unique and technically correct design. Do not be intimated by this class, it will be so exciting you will wonder why you have not tried creating before.

 

 

 

 Advanced Airbrushing & Brushwork

   This class is open to those of you who have a good understanding of airbrushing and brushwork.  New patterns, new projects and on a slightly more time consuming, side of the scale.  We will be doing five advanced beautiful ceramic projects in a variety of medias.  Classes fill up fast, so please get your registration fee in now.  Some projects will have both airbrushing and brushwork.

 

 

Learn & Play Workshop

Open Workshop We will have a selection of ware to paint on and you can decide what you want to paint. All my projects will be available for use and you can design individual content to fit your needs. I will guide you through your specific needs and requests. Primarily for Brushwork, but we can handle other techniques if desired.

 

 

 

For each Class the Fee is $465 & Includes;

 

·  Three days and two evenings of instructions

1.  Information on product families (Duncan & Mayco) for Airbrushing and/or Brushwork.

2.  Color development.

3.  Special Techniques.

4.  Explanations on color theory.

5.  Repairing  mistakes, Airbrushing and/or Brushwork.

6.  Interpreting a piece, for proper Airbrushing, Brushwork &/or Design.

7.  Trouble shooting mechanical & product failures.

8.  Detailing with the Airbrush and/or Brushes.

·  All meals are included.

·  All color.

·  An intense instruction manual & CD, with instructions & techniques that were discussed in Class.

       The Airbrushing Class also, includes;

           Instructions on how to assemble of the airbrush hoses and troubleshooting the for the airbrush & hoses.

       Also, included in the "Creative Design";

        Color development and Color Wheel.

       Explanations on color theory in detail.

       Interpreting a piece, for proper design.

          Building a design.

 

   Please note the ware is not included in the price of the classes.  We will be doing at least 9 to 11 pieces. You will be receiving a ware list and can determine if you want to get the ware from us or bring your own.  Our ware is very reasonable.   May I suggest you use our ware.

Class Particulars

1. Location – 1591 S. Timmy Ave.  Fresno, CA 93727  (559) 456-4726

2. Lodging – local motels or if desired bring your air mattress and sleeping bag and hang out on my floor.  I have a few cots and a couch.  We can camp out so to speak.  Bunking in could be fun, like a dorm style set up.

3. Class Times – we’ll start each morning at 8:30 a.m. and continue through 5:00 p.m.  We will have an hour and half dinner break and continue at 6:30p to 9:00 or 10:00 p.m. on the Saturday and Sunday evenings. 

4. Firing – will also be completed on most of the pieces, so the ware can be transported home easily.

5. Deposit of $150.00 needs to be mailed in to hold your spot and this deposit is transferable but not returnable.  Since the class size is extremely limited we need to be guaranteed your presence once the seat is requested.  Payment for the remaining fee can be paid during class.

6. Airbrushes (needed for Airbrush Class Only) – each student will need their own new Paasche H Airbrush Kit.   These airbrushes retail for $80.00 but we will have them available for $54.00 or purchase one before class.

7. Brushes (needed for Brushstroke Class Only) - Students will need a full set of David Hoff Brushes that will be offered at 40% off the retail price during class.
